The first recipient of supplies will be the Los Angeles based non-profit, GrowGood. GrowGood is working in partnership with the Salvation Army's Bell Homeless Shelter - the largest homeless shelter on the West Coast - to transform the 1.5-acre parcel of land adjacent to the Shelter into a small farm. The purpose of the farm is to provide the Shelter's kitchen with substantial quantities of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables as well as therapeutic and job training opportunities for the Shelter’s residents, many of whom are veterans.
